Liberal Intolerance
Today's question comes in response to comments made by one of my more liberal friends last night. She stated that she could never live in a "white suburb" or be in places that felt too much like a "GOP convention". My question is: why is it that liberals extol the virtues of multi-culturalism and tolerance, yet they don't want to be around and don't want to tolerate anyone with an opposing view?????

If someone claims that nobody can know "absolute truth", then are they not making an "absolute truth claim"? Are they not claiming that only they know absolute truth?
ReplyDeleteWhen an Aethist states that something is "immoral" or "unethical", by what standard are they judging? If there is no God and no absolute truth, then how can anyone claim that the deeds of Mao, Stalin, or Hitler are "bad". Even the term "bad" requires a reference point. In a moral relativist world, there can be no "bad" or "good".
